2011 Student of the Year
Nate Paul, Pattonville High School
Nate Paul (with two plaques), who graduated last year from Pattonville High School, with well-wishers and award presenters at the September 29th Do The Right Thing Annual Kick-off ceremony.
Last year while Nate was a senior at Pattonville High School, he handled a serious situation with a fellow student in an incredible way. Nate observed the student was emotional and becoming increasingly upset. Nate told the classroom teacher but as the student was approached, he took off running for his car. As it became apparent the student might do something drastic, Nate followed him. The student got into his car, and Nate immediately jumped in also. Nate continued to speak to the student and finally got his keys away from him.
Thanks to Nate, school administrators and the school resource officer were able to speak to the student and the situation was brought under control. Not only was the student helped, but others were kept out of harm's way.
